It it however now boasting the deal of a .com for a year and a .co.uk for 2 years for £10.12 (inc VAT). Normally with .co.uk at around £6 before VAT per TWO years and .coms at £8.89 (before VAT) per year, this is a very good deal for us as customers. Many points do let them down. They are owned by fasthosts. Where UKREG used to have its own control panel for access to your domain registrations, you must now be redirected to fasthosts - which generally does not work. You can only set up single A and MX records. With no control over specific subdomains etc. and the inability to edit other records, this is a problem for serious developers. They boast a 24-7 support service that "You should not need because their system is so good". Within 2 weeks I had sent 2 emails, spent a total of 1.5 hours on hold and finally managed to get through to them at the end of these 2 weeks at 4 o'clock in the morning to find that my emails had had notes written on them - just no one had bothered to reply. Does the price match the service? Give your views here. | |
